Patent AttorneyA patent attorney is another type of registered individual who is authorized by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) to prepare and prosecute patent applications for inventors. In addition to having the qualifications of a patent agent, the patent attorney is also a practicing attorney. In the very unlikely event that a patent case is litigated, a patent attorney can represent a client in court.
